Capulin Volcano National Monument - 30 mi : Created by President Woodrow Wilson in 1916. Eight walking trails around its rim. The oldest flows started almost 10 million years ago, and the most recent less than 10,000 years ago.
Raton Municipal Golf Course : This nine-hole golf course is well landscaped and has terrific views. Watch out for the mule deer and wild turkey.
Santa Fe Trail Balloon Rally : The rally now features three days of beautiful hot air balloons filling the northeastern New Mexico sky as the sun rises. On independence Day evening, balloons light up the night sky to provide a stunning backdrop to live entertainment and spectacular fireworks display conducted by the City of Raton Fire and Police Departments.
